Donate and help us re-hire all the musicians — and pay them the same amount of money they would have made by performing at the fall festivals. They need the income and let's show them our love!
Every time we raise enough money to book a band, we'll pick a winner and create a special porch or backyard popup concert for them somewhere in NOLA. Everyone who donates can win as long as your location fits safety protocols (see below).
Because of Delta - these shows will be surprises and secret. Unfortunately we can't bring crowds together — but we can fill our beautiful city with music happening all over! We can support and enjoy live local music!
COVID-safety:
Hosts of any shows must be vaccinated. Masks on during performances - outside only!
Shows will be surprises and not-publicized. strict rules for # of people at each performance.
Why are the shows secret?
To minimize crowds, we will not announce who is performing where. Only which gigs have been fulfilled. It's definitely not safe to encourage big crowds right now, but we can set up safe, small-crowd porch or yard concerts if we keep it quiet :)
How does the raffle work?
Anyone who donates is entered into winning a show. If you live outside of Orleans parish and you win the raffle, we can gift the show to a frontline medical worker to boost their spirits in this difficult time.
When will you announce which shows are happening?
As donations come in, we will announce who is "booked" but we will not tell anyone when / where the shows are happening to keep crowd sizes small.
Does anyone choose which musician they get if they win the raffle?
Unfortunately no - but we will let you choose the genre of music! We know everyone wants to win a "headliner", but we have to make sure we support all the musicians! Each and every performance will be as memorable as if it had been at the fairgrounds. We will also make sure you don't get a genre of music you hate. :)
How do you choose which musicians get "gigs"?
We are using the line-up of Jazz Fest, French Quarter Fest, and Festivals Acadiens et Creoles. We will start with the more affordable gigs and get those funded first :) We will work our way up to the headliners (which are more expensive)
Where can porch concerts go?
Anywhere in Orleans Parish! Assuming there is enough porch or yard space to accommodate.
Why are you doing this?
To support the amazing musicians in Louisiana! And bring some joy during a dark time!
